Meet Dr. Matthews
Dr. Brendan Matthews was born and raised in Wilmington, DE.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University and went on to receive his DMD degree at Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2016. Afterwards, Dr. Matthews completed a General Practice Residency at Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, NY as well as a one-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA where he served as chief resident from 2021-2022.
Dr. Matthews performs all aspects of oral surgery with clinical interests in dentoalveolar
procedures, dental implant placement, orthognathic (corrective-jaw) surgery, TMJ disorder
treatment and surgery, and facial trauma surgery. Dr. Matthews will hold staff appointments at
Regional Hospital of Scranton, Moses Taylor Hospital, and the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-
Barre where he will serve as an instructor for the General Dental Residency program.
Dr. Matthews resides in Scranton with his wife, Kristen, and their daughter, Madison.
